Description
"This American cabinet was made in the ""Japonisme"" style, which took inspiration from the arts and architecture of Japan. Although Japan's ports had opened to international trade in 1854, it was not until exposure at the Philadelphia Centennial Exhibition of 1876 that Japanese arts captured the attention of the American designers and consumers."
