She is currently the Managing Director of Byrdie’s Pottery\, a community ceramics studio located in the Marigny neighborhood of New Orleans. She takes a process-oriented approach to her ceramic work—crafting utilitarian vessels that are simultaneously works of art and that create conversation with ongoing inquiries into the natural world. Rouatt is interested in growth\, decay\, branching\, cycles\, and metamorphosis\, as well as the textures and shapes that emerge when looking at the world both up close and from a distance. Rouatt has facilitated arts and nature education programming at numerous spaces throughout New Orleans\, including NOLA Nature School\, the Louisiana Children’s Museum\, the Contemporary Arts Center\, the Green Project\, Longue Vue House & Gardens\, the Ogden Museum of Southern Art\, and others. \n\nNOMA’s Art Thrives programs are supported by E.A. Michelson Philanthropy.
