Line and Shadow in Drawing Fabric
Many of the masterworks in The Orléans Collection feature depictions of elaborately-patterned flowing fabric. Not only does the fabric in these pieces highlight the skills of the artists, but serve a compositional purpose by using light and value to create a sense of space within the painting. While seemly quite challenging, folds in fabric can be simplified to line drawings that focus on shape and value. In this Create Late workshop, participants will explore drawing folded fabric using pencil and colored pencil.
