Lecture and Luncheon with Architect Annabelle Selldorf
Mon, June 27th, 2016 at 11:00 AM - 1:30 PM
Please join the New Orleans Architecture Foundation and New Orleans Museum of Art for a design lecture with architect Annabelle Selldorf, FAIA in the Stern Auditorium.
Selldorf is the principal of Selldorf Architects in New York City, an architectural design practice with an international reputation for work that is sensitive to context and program. The firm has worked on public and private projects that range from museums and libraries to a recycling facility in Brooklyn, including the renovations of the Neue Galerie and The Clark Art Institute.
The NOAF partners with NOMA in conjunction with the museum’s first design exhibition: The Essence of Things: Design and the Art of Reduction, an exhibition of the Vitra Design Museum (Germany) on view June 24 through September 11, 2016. The Essence of Things brings together more than 180 objects from 100 years of design history, ranging from humble items like wooden spoons to conceptual chairs by superstar designers.
Proceeds raised from this lecture and luncheon will benefit the New Orleans Architecture Foundation. Copies of Selldorf Architects: Portfolio and Projects will be available for purchase.
