On Saturday, April 6, NOMA is participating in International Slow Art Day, which encourages visitors to slow down and explore one or several works of art for a minimum of five minutes each. Instructional materials may be found at the admission desk.

Looking Closely at Social Conditions in Nigeria Today
Ndubuisi Ezeluomba, the Francoise Billion Richardson Curator of African Art, will lead a roundtable discussion about contemporary social conditions in Nigeria following a screening of the 2014 film Invasion 1897. Panelists from the Association of Nigerians in New Orleans will include Reuben Amienoho, Alabor Derefaka, and Olu Ariwajoye, each representing a different regional group in Nigeria.

Noontime Talk: Ear to the Ground with Curator Katie Pfohl
Noontime talks are casual conversations between artists, curators, and other special guests with NOMA visitors frequently scheduled throughout the year. Join Curator Katie Pfohl for a discussion about the exhibition Ear to the Ground: Earth and Element in Contemporary Art.
Small Talk: Madonna and Child with Saints
Small Talks are ten-to-fifteen-minute gallery talks focused on one object or a small group of objects. These brief informal sessions enrich the visitor experience and allow visitors to learn more about works of art in NOMA’s permanent holdings as well as those on view in temporary exhibitions.
NOMA Highlights Tour
NOMA docents guide visitors on hour-long tours of either the permanent collection or special exhibitions. Tours are free with NOMA admission. Meet in the Great Hall to join in.
