Allison Young, assistant professor of contemporary art history at Louisiana State University, will discuss the exhibition Torkwase Dyson: Black Compositional Thought | 15 Paintings for the Plantationocene.

    NOMA's Teen Squad presents Teen Night: VIBRANT DIMENSIONS, a Friday night takeover inspired by the work of artists Alia Alia and Odili Donald Odita. Wear your boldest and brightest and enjoy FREE food, screen-printed T-shirts, art activities, youth performances, music by DJ Legatron Prime and more! Planned by teens, for teens, Teen Nights at NOMA are free and open to high school students. Admission to NOMA is always free for visitors age 19 and under.

  • Studio KIDS!

    Studio KIDS! presents a dynamic series of children’s art classes exploring our southern Louisianan environments and homes: both real and imagined. Each week, participants will engage with different sources of inspiration in NOMA’s galleries or the Besthoff Sculpture Garden, starting with explorations of the landscape and its creatures, then shifting focus indoors to explore exquisite constructions in the interior. Advance registration required.

    Gallery talks are casual conversations between artists, curators, and other special guests with NOMA visitors frequently scheduled throughout the year. In conjunction with the exhibition An Ideal Unity: The Bauhaus & Beyond Benjamin Benus, an associate professor of art and design history at Loyola University in New Orleans, will discuss the legacy of Austrian emigre and Bauhaus teacher Herbert Bayer in the United States.

  • Brushes Without Boundaries: A Sensory-Friendly Art Workshop with Cypher – CANCELED

    In partnership with the New Blue Foundation, art therapist Kate Lacour, AT-BC and contemporary artist Devin “Cypher” Dennis will lead a sensory-friendly workshop. Free with registration, the workshop is limited to twelve families. The ideal age for the activity is ages 6 to 12. Advance registration required.
