SUMMARY:NOMA Book Club Discussion Group
DESCRIPTION:UPDATE: Due to the threat of hurricane activity in South Louisiana\, this session has been rescheduled for Thursday\, September 3. \nJoin fellow book lovers as we read and discuss fiction and nonfiction books related to art\, artists\, art museums\, NOMA’s collections and exhibitions. Dreyfous Library\, the Book Club is an informal group. You do not have to attend every meeting and we understand if you have to leave a discussion or program early. The book club offers several types of programs: a book discussion group that meets once a month (no reading in December)\, curatorial programs\, field trips\, and Meet the Author receptions. Most book club programs start promptly at noon\, but please arrive at 11:30 a.m. if you wish to bring a sack lunch or meet beforehand. And every bit of it is true. \nTHURSDAY\, AUGUST 27\, 12 – 1 pm | BOOK DISCUSSION GROUP

SUMMARY:LOVE in the Garden 2020 presented by Hancock Whitney - CANCELED
DESCRIPTION:The New Orleans Museum of Art has made the difficult decision to cancel our annual fundraiser\, LOVE in the Garden presented by Hancock Whitney scheduled for Friday\, September 25\, 2020. Given the number of attendees and the social distancing guidelines issued by the City of New Orleans and State of Louisiana due to the COVID- 19 pandemic\, the New Orleans Museum of Art’s leadership along with presenting sponsor\, Hancock Whitney\, agreed that canceling the event would be in the best interest of public health safety. \nThe well-being and safety of staff\, volunteers\, sponsors\, guests\, and donors are NOMA’s and Hancock Whitney’s highest priorities. \nFor fifteen years\, LOVE in the Garden\, which takes place in the iconic Sydney and Walda Besthoff Sculpture Garden\, celebrates the visual and culinary artists of New Orleans with a festive evening offering the best of New Orleans cuisine\, spirits\, and entertainment. Over 1\,500 guests enjoy featured menu items from over 60 of New Orleans’ finest restaurants\, caterers and food trucks\, as well as craft cocktails from New Orleans’ top bartenders. The funds raised at LOVE provide crucial general operating support to NOMA\, allowing us to keep staff on payroll\, create innovative virtual content and serve our community with educational initiatives. \nWe thank our presenting sponsor\, Hancock Whitney as well as all of our loyal sponsors\, patrons\, donors and volunteers who have made LOVE the success that it is. We look forward to celebrating with all of you in 2021 for a spectacular LOVE in the Garden presented by Hancock Whitney.
