Inspired by Museum Game Night’s epic #butthunt, NOMA is launching a themed hunt among the artworks for the Masquerade: Late Night at NOMA event on May 12. The theme is all about those queens out there. YAS QUEEN, to be specific. Masquerade attendees will be searching high and low to find the boldest, fiercest, nastiest queens in our galleries.
WHAT’S THE DEAL WITH THE MASQUERADE?
On Friday, May 12, Venice meets New Orleans in a Carnival-style party that keeps the museum open till midnight. Live music, performances, specialty cocktails, circus acts, drag performances and other surprises await. Admission is free to museum members, $12.00 for adults, $10.00 for seniors (65+) & active military with ID, $8.00 university students with ID, and $6.00 for children (7-12) — if they can stay up that late!
HOW TO PARTICIPATE
Submit your YAS QUEEN pictures on Twitter between 6–11pm on May 12. Follow us on Twitter @noma1910 for some regal inspiration leading up to the big event. Don’t have Twitter? You have one week to sign up and get acquainted!
#YASQUEENNOMA will feature two contests: Find as many queens as you can AND find the fiercest queen. This is a self-directed scavenger hunt/exploration of the galleries in search of all the queens NOMA has to offer.
All participants must follow @noma1910 on Twitter. If you have questions throughout the night, please direct message us on Twitter.
All ART queens are welcome — human, animal, alien, angel, demon, nymph, etc — but please don’t submit living queens (and there will be many at the masquerade!)
