In response to the recent tragic fire at Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris, and to show support for those affected by the hateful events that have stricken the hearts of our Louisiana community, the New Orleans Museum of Art will donate all proceeds from museum attendance on Saturday, April 20, and Sunday, April 21, to rebuilding efforts. Visitors had the option to donate their admission fees to the preservation of Notre Dame Cathedral or to those affected by the recent church fires in St. Landry Parish. 

“Notre Dame Cathedral is among the highest artistic and architectural achievements of Western civilization,” said Margaux Krane, NOMA’s Communications and Marketing Director. “A spiritual beacon and the heartbeat of Paris, the devastation of this monument is an immeasurable tragedy for Parisians as well as the rest of the world. Together with the people of New Orleans, we ardently support the rebuilding of Notre Dame.” Additionally, “NOMA’s intention, as a fine arts institution, was to help preserve the priceless works of art within Notre Dame and the architectural achievements the Cathedral represents. It is equally imperative that, as a Louisiana institution, we show support for those affected by the hateful events that have stricken the hearts of our community.”
